I received an inquiry from Brooke that read, “I saw that you are going to be back “home” in August and would love to meet up for a family session if you still have time. My husbands grandfather recently passed away and my husband had taken over his dairy farm for many years (until he decided to sell the cows last year).

I’d love to have a family session at the farm and surrounding fields as we aren’t sure what will happen with it in the future now with his grandpas passing.”

So of course we made it happen. We spent the evening listening to Taylor Swift and just really soaking in the property that has been within their family for so many years. They danced and played in the lawn, we drove up the hill and walked through the bean field, we walked around and Brooke & Drew told me some stories about the barn… it was obvious a lot of special memories were made here. Since the session, the farm and land has officially left this family and is now owned by a different one.

I will never take this job for granted. I am so thankful and honored I was asked to photograph such a personal experience for Brooke, Drew, & their family. I truly have bittersweet feelings thinking about these photos being looked at for generations to come.
